The Sokkia DX-101AC is a 1-second auto-pointing total station designed for precise surveying and construction work. It measures horizontal and vertical angles and distances to determine point positions, record site features, and set out locations from a plan. Its motorized operation helps crews work efficiently across large sites and repeated measurements.

The DX-101AC’s Direct Aiming technology automatically sights a prism after the operator roughly aims the instrument and starts a measurement. This reduces the time spent manually centering the telescope on each target. It is useful for tasks such as topographic surveys, control measurements, and construction stakeout, particularly when many points need to be measured.

The instrument also measures distances without a prism using Sokkia’s reflectorless distance meter. This lets crews measure suitable walls, structures, and other hard-to-reach surfaces directly. Sokkia specifies a reflectorless range of 0.3 to 800 meters under average conditions, extending to 1,000 meters under good conditions. With one AP prism, its specified range is up to 5,000 meters under average conditions.

For angle measurement, the DX-101AC combines 1-second accuracy with a dual-axis compensator and Sokkia’s Independent Angle Calibration System. A 30× telescope helps with target sighting, while the color touchscreen and onboard MAGNET Field software support point collection, stakeout, and field calculations. Bluetooth communication allows data exchange with a compatible controller.

The DX-101AC brings measurement, automatic prism aiming, and onboard data collection together in one field instrument.
