Sokkia CX-102 2" Reflectorless Total Station
The Sokkia CX-102 2″ Reflectorless Total Station is an electronic surveying instrument that measures horizontal angles, vertical angles, and distances to establish point locations and elevations. Surveyors and construction crews use it for mapping, site measurements, and layout work. The 2″ designation means two arcseconds of angular accuracy.
Its RED-tech electronic distance measurement system measures suitable surfaces without requiring a prism at the target. This reflectorless capability helps users measure walls, elevated features, and difficult-to-access points. The specified reflectorless range is 0.3–500 meters, depending on surface reflectivity and conditions.
The CX-102 also works with survey prisms and reflective-sheet targets. By combining distance and angle measurements, it supports coordinate calculations, height determination, and setting out planned positions. These capabilities help crews transfer design information onto a construction site and document existing features.
For reliable angle measurements, the CX-102 incorporates absolute encoders, a dual-axis compensator, and Sokkia’s Independent Angle Calibration System (IACS). Traditional clamps and fine-motion screws provide aiming control. Bluetooth connectivity, where fitted, allows communication with a compatible field controller.
The instrument combines rechargeable battery power with onboard data storage and USB data transfer for field-to-office workflows. Its surveying functions make it useful for topographic surveys, construction staking, and civil-engineering measurements, while its field-oriented design supports repeated setup and operation on job sites.
