Nikon Nivo 5.C 5" Prism & Reflectorless Total Station
The Nikon Nivo 5.C is a 5″ total station designed for surveying, construction layout, and site measurement. It combines electronic angle measurement with distance measurement so an operator can record existing points, determine positions, and mark planned locations in the field.
The instrument works with a survey prism for longer distance measurements and also has a reflectorless mode for measuring suitable surfaces directly. Reflectorless measurement can help when a point is difficult to reach or when placing a prism would slow the job. Under good conditions, the manufacturer rates the Nivo 5.C for distances up to 5,000 m with a single prism and up to 500 m reflectorlessly, depending on the target.
A 30× telescope helps the operator aim at points, while the color touchscreen provides access to measurements and survey functions. The Nivo C Series supports field software for tasks such as collecting points and laying out positions from a plan. Its 5″ angle accuracy identifies the precision class of this particular model.
The Nivo 5.C is built for outdoor fieldwork. Its dual-axis compensator helps account for small setup errors, and its IP66-rated housing provides protection from dust and water jets. Two rechargeable, hot-swappable batteries allow an operator to replace one battery without shutting down the instrument.
For survey crews, the Nivo 5.C brings measurement, calculation, and data recording together in a portable instrument. It can be used to map site features, check construction work, and transfer design points onto the ground. Bluetooth and USB connections provide ways to move data to other equipment; the software and accessories included with a particular unit should be confirmed from its listing.
