Trimble Ri 3" Robotic Total Station
The Trimble Ri 3″ Robotic Total Station is a surveying instrument designed for construction layout and measurement. It helps crews transfer positions from digital plans to the jobsite, so they can mark where structural elements and building systems need to be installed. The 3″ designation refers to its angular accuracy of three arc seconds.
The instrument measures horizontal angles, vertical angles, and distances to determine the position of a point. It can measure to a survey prism or use its reflectorless laser to measure suitable surfaces directly. This makes it useful for setting out planned locations and checking work that has already been built.
Its robotic operation allows one person to control the instrument remotely while moving around the site with a prism and compatible field controller. The Ri can search for and track the prism, helping the operator measure points without repeatedly returning to the instrument.
The Ri also includes Trimble VISION camera technology, a focused red laser for precise marking, and automatic level detection. When used with Trimble FieldLink software, crews can work from digital layout data, collect measurements, and share field results with the office.
Contractors can use the Trimble Ri 3″ to lay out grids, walls, anchor points, piping, ductwork, and electrical runs. It also supports checks of installed work against the design. Its combination of robotic tracking, prism and reflectorless measurement, and field software makes it a practical tool for both layout and verification.
Features:
- 3″ angular accuracy for precise construction layout.
- Robotic prism tracking for single-person operation.
- Prism and reflectorless distance measurement for measuring targets or suitable surfaces directly.
- Focused red laser for marking layout points.
