Trimble R780 GNSS Smart Antenna

The Trimble R780 is a GNSS smart antenna used to determine precise positions for surveying, construction, and site work. It combines the satellite antenna, receiver, radio, sensors, and battery in one rugged unit. Crews can mount it on a survey pole to measure points or use it as part of a base-station setup.

The R780 receives signals from multiple satellite constellations and uses correction data to improve positioning accuracy. In an RTK configuration, Trimble specifies precision of up to 8 mm horizontally and 15 mm vertically under suitable conditions. Surveyors use those positions to map features, establish control, check locations, and stake out design points.

Its built-in inertial sensors support Trimble TIP tilt compensation. This lets a surveyor measure the position of the pole tip without holding the pole perfectly vertical, making it easier to work beside obstacles or at points that are awkward to reach.

The receiver can be configured as a rover, a base station, or both, depending on its license. It supports field workflows through Trimble software and offers communication options including Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and dual-band UHF radio. Trimble technologies such as ProPoint, CenterPoint RTX, and xFill help maintain useful positioning in challenging conditions or during brief interruptions to RTK corrections.

Built for demanding outdoor use, the R780 has an IP68-rated enclosure and is designed to withstand rough field conditions. Its integrated design reduces the number of separate components a crew needs to carry while providing precise GNSS measurements for surveying and construction tasks.

Features:

  • Integrated GNSS antenna, receiver, radio, inertial sensors, and battery
  • Rover, base-station, or combined base-and-rover configurations, depending on the license
  • Multi-constellation satellite tracking, including GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and BeiDou
  • RTK precision specified at 8 mm horizontal / 15 mm vertical under suitable conditions
  • Trimble TIP tilt compensation for measuring with an angled survey pole
  • Trimble ProPoint positioning for challenging GNSS environments
  • CenterPoint RTX correction support and xFill coverage during brief RTK correction interruptions
  • Dual-band 450/900 MHz UHF radio, plus Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity
  • Rugged IP68-rated enclosure
