The Sokkia SET3X Reflectorless Total Station 3″ is a surveying instrument used to measure angles, distances, and the positions of points on land or structures. It combines an electronic distance meter with precise angle measurement to calculate coordinates and elevations. Its 3″ rating means an angular accuracy of three arcseconds, making it suitable for construction layout, topographic surveys, and general engineering work.

The SET3X uses Sokkia’s RED-tech EX distance measurement technology to measure surfaces without placing a reflector prism at the target. Its reflectorless range reaches up to 500 metres under specified target and environmental conditions, helping surveyors measure locations that are difficult to access. When used with a compatible prism, it supports longer-distance measurements for larger survey sites.

Its onboard SDR surveying software helps users collect point data, calculate coordinates, and set out planned positions in the field. Functions such as resection, offset measurement, remote elevation measurement, and area calculation support everyday surveying tasks. A colour touchscreen and alphanumeric keypad allow operators to enter information, select functions, and review measurements directly on the instrument.

Designed for outdoor fieldwork, the SET3X features an IP65-rated enclosure for protection against dust and water jets. Rechargeable batteries provide portable operation, while data connections allow survey results to be transferred for further processing. Surveyors and construction crews use it to establish reference points, position foundations and utilities, check elevations, and document existing site conditions.
