The Sokkia SET2X Reflectorless Total Station is a surveying instrument that measures horizontal and vertical angles along with distances. Its 2-arc-second angular accuracy supports work such as topographic surveying, construction layout, and determining the positions and elevations of site features.
Its RED-tech EX electronic distance measurement system uses a narrow laser beam to measure directly to suitable surfaces without a prism. It offers reflectorless measurements up to 500 meters and measurements up to 6,000 meters with a single AP prism, depending on conditions.
Surveyors use these readings to calculate coordinates, collect points for maps, and set out planned locations on the ground. This helps crews position structures, check alignments, and compare existing site conditions with project designs.
The SET2X runs Windows CE and supports compatible field data collection software. Bluetooth communication, USB connections, and a CompactFlash card slot provide ways to exchange information with external equipment and transfer collected survey data.
Built for outdoor use, the instrument provides IP65 protection against dust and water jets. Its measurement trigger and fine adjustment controls help operators aim and take readings efficiently. The standard BDC58 battery provides approximately 14 hours of operation under specified conditions
