The Sokkia FX-101 is a 1-second reflectorless total station designed for surveying, construction layout, and site measurement. It measures horizontal and vertical angles as well as distances, allowing surveyors to calculate the positions of points in the field. Its high angle accuracy makes it well suited to work where precise alignment and reliable measurements matter.
The FX-101 can measure directly to many surfaces without placing a prism at the target. This helps when recording walls, building corners, road features, or other points that are difficult to access. Sokkia specifies a reflectorless range of 0.3 to 500 meters under stated conditions. For longer measurements, the instrument can also work with a prism, reaching up to 4,000 meters with one AP prism under average conditions.
Its 30× telescope helps the operator sight targets, while a dual-axis compensator accounts for small amounts of instrument tilt. The FX-101 also includes Sokkia’s Independent Angle Calibration System, which supports dependable angle measurement over time. Together, these features help crews collect accurate site data and set out points from survey plans.
The instrument’s color touchscreen and onboard field software allow users to collect points, enter descriptions, and perform calculations at the total station. Measurements can be stored and transferred for further use, and Bluetooth communication is available on equipped units for connecting to a field controller.
