Sokkia DX-102AC 2" Auto-Pointing Reflectorless Total Station
The Sokkia DX-102AC is a 2-second auto-pointing reflectorless total station designed for surveying, construction layout, and site measurement. It measures horizontal and vertical angles together with distances, allowing crews to calculate point positions, record existing features, and set out locations from a plan.
Its Direct Aiming technology automatically sights a prism after the operator roughly aims the instrument and starts a measurement. This reduces the time spent manually centering on each target. Combined with the motorized drive, auto-pointing is useful when collecting many topographic points or carrying out repeated layout and control measurements.
The DX-102AC can also measure directly to suitable surfaces without a prism. This helps crews capture building faces, walls, corners, and other points that are difficult to reach. Sokkia specifies a reflectorless range of 0.3 to 800 meters under average conditions and up to 1,000 meters under good conditions. With one AP prism, its specified measuring range is up to 5,000 meters under average conditions.
A 30× telescope helps the operator sight targets, while a dual-axis compensator accounts for small amounts of instrument tilt. The 2-second angle accuracy supports precise fieldwork. Its color touchscreen and onboard MAGNET Field software let users collect points, carry out stakeout, and perform survey calculations at the instrument.
The DX-102AC combines automatic prism aiming, reflectorless measurement, and onboard data collection in a rugged field unit. Bluetooth communication is available on equipped units for connecting to a compatible controller, and the IP65-rated housing provides dust and water protection for job-site use. It is a practical tool for crews that need reliable measurements across varied survey and construction tasks.
