The Sokkia CX-107 is a reflectorless total station used to measure angles, distances, and positions for surveying and construction work. It combines a 30× telescope, an electronic angle measuring system, and a laser distance meter in one instrument. Surveyors use it to collect site measurements, establish reference points, and set out locations from a plan.

Its reflectorless mode measures directly to suitable surfaces without placing a prism at every point. This is useful for recording building faces, walls, corners, and other points that are difficult to reach. Under the conditions specified by Sokkia, the reflectorless measuring range is 0.3 to 500 meters. The CX-107 can also measure to a prism when the job calls for one.

The CX-107 is the 7-second angle accuracy model in Sokkia’s CX series. Its dual-axis compensator helps account for small amounts of instrument tilt, while the telescope and aiming controls help the operator target points precisely. These features make it suitable for everyday tasks such as topographic surveys, site layout, and measuring existing structures.

For fieldwork, the instrument has a backlit display and keypad, internal storage for approximately 10,000 points, and a USB port for transferring data with a flash drive. It runs on a rechargeable battery, with a specified operating time of approximately 36 hours under Sokkia’s stated test conditions. Bluetooth communication is available on some configurations.

With its rugged body and IP66 dust and water protection rating, the CX-107 is built for use on active job sites. It gives surveyors a practical way to capture measurements and carry out layout work, whether they are measuring directly to a surface or using a prism.
