Rycom Instruments 8856 Cable, Pipe and Fault Locator
The 8856 Cable, Pipe and Fault Locator beats other locators on the market when it comes to price, durability and size.

This addition to our locator product line is similar to our popular 8850. We have incorporated a few improvements to the 8856. The 8856 is designed to locate cables and pipes underground using either the nulling or peaking antenna. To benefit from both the nulling and peaking antenna, the user only has to flip the switch located on the back of the receiver. By having the choice of selecting nulling or peaking antennas, the user has more flexibility in locating the underground utility. The unit can be ordered with an optional Ground Return Probe (GRP), Cable Pair Identifier, Cable Identifier and/or Flexicoupler.

By attaching the optional accessories, the handheld locator is converted into a versatile piece of equipment. When the GRP is attached, it allows the user to locate ground faults. By connecting the Cable Pair Identifier, the user is able to identify a cable pair at the pedestal. The optional Cable Identifier accessory allows the user to search for a cable within a bundle of cables. The Flexicoupler can be attached to the transmitter for induction.
